This course academically educates students in the science behind the sport, on the basis of medical, sports theoretical and salutogenetical facts from health care, organized sports and the health industry. In their professional careers, graduates will later exercise responsibility and administor leadership. Therefore, with a background knowledge in biology, they will use their acquired expertise and skills for training theory in various professional fields, such as in health facilities and health education, occupational health management, or as a trainer in health, prevention or rehabilitation facilities, as well as in sports clubs and associations.

In particular, students learn:

  • Comprehensive methodical, technical and professional skills in practical training science that enable them, for example, to successfully undertake problem solving in positions of responsibility or leadership in establishments, institutions and organizations belonging to the health care, sports and health industry
  • The ability, based on evidential knowledge, to critically examine their own spectrum, to understand it on a scientific basis and to widen it for a variety of applications
  • Social, socio-educational and cooperational skills that allow them to operate safely in a complex, multi-professional and cross-cultural environment , in a legally compliant, capable and competent manner.
