  • Language: All lectures will be held in German only
  • Degree: Master of Business Administration (MBA)
  • Duration: 3 semesters of lectures (attendance phase), 4th semester reserved for the Master thesis
  • Start of Studies/Application Deadline: Next start of studies: September 2021; Application Deadline: 15 July 2021. If you are still interested in studying after the deadline, Peter Apfelbeck will be happy to inform you about available places; Maximum number of participants: 20 students per year!
  • Time required for the attendance phases: good compatibility of studies and career due to special time concept with lectures in blocks, once a month (usually Thursday - Sunday) in Deggendorf; the Bavarian holidays are usually free of lectures
  • Costs: € 4,398 €/semester + € 62 student union fee + one-off administration fee of € 1,150

Target Group

The students of the MBA Business Start-up and Management are among others:

  •     CEOs who want to run their company successfully as professional managers and who want to acquire the necessary skills to do so
  •     Company successors who have taken over or will take over the family business, for example, and who acquire the necessary knowledge
  •     People interested in founding a company who already have a business idea and now want to learn how to implement it professionally and systematically. The same applies to people who may be aiming to become self-employed in the future
  •     Self-employed persons and entrepreneurs who have already started their start-up business or persons who are active in comparable companies and need appropriate knowledge
  •     Department heads and managers who wish to manage the area for which they are responsible in a goal-oriented and competent manner
  •     Project managers who wish to develop their management skills in a targeted manner
  •     Management assistants who would like to gain additional qualifications for their diverse tasks and expand their skills within the framework of the MBA programme

Founding and Innovation Management

SVP – Entrepreneurship (Entrepreneurship, Silicon Valley Programme)  
SVP - Business Communication (Rhetorics and Presentation Techniques, Negotiation Techniques)  
Business Succession (Processes and Variants of Business Succession, Law and Taxes of Business Succession, Family Business and Sustainability)  
Marketing & Sales (Marketing, Distribution and Sales, Public Relations)  
4. Semester  
Master Thesis + Colloquium

Admission requirements

  •     Completed first degree at a recognised university
  •     At least 1 year of relevant professional experience after completion of the first degree
  •     Successful completion of the application procedure including an orientation interview with the head of the study programme Prof. Dr. Thomas Geiß

Application MBA Business start-up and management

Applications are accepted all year round. The application deadline for the start in September 2021 is 15 August 2021. If you have missed the deadline, Peter Apfelbeck will be happy to provide you with information about available places.

Apply online via the Primuss application portal for part-time degree programmes with the following documents:

  •     Letter of motivation (1 page, signed)
  •     Tabular curriculum vitae (signed) with passport photo
  •     Copy of the certificate of the first degree (official certification is only required upon enrollment, if not acquired at DIT)
  •     Proof of professional experience (at least 1 year) after completion of the first degree (confirmation from the employer or job reference)
  •     Simple copy of the university entrance qualification, e.g. school leaving certificate
