Welcome to the faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Mechatronics. We proudly regard our faculty as a centre of excellence for mechanical engineering and mechatronics in Bavaria. We have excellent connections and therefore collaborate with other institutions both in the academic and research world to help further development locally and further afield.

This faculty focuses on practice-orientated education. With around 170 annual enrolments, the majority of students study mechanical engineering, specializing in either “development and construction”, “energy/construction engineering”, “metal and plastics technology”, “industrial management – technical operational management” or “production technology”. On the Deggendorf campus, mechatronic bachelor students often work together with the faculty of electrical engineering and media technology, of which there are presently around 50 students.

Additionally, we have a master course in mechatronics and a master course for mechanical engineering is presently being planned.
