The central range of tasks on the Technology Campus Cham is the research, development and teaching in the field of mechatronic systems. There is a broad spectrum of different topics in the areas of mechatronics, like for example mechatronic production technology, rapid prototyping or simulation technology on the TC Cham.

Besides the research and technology transfer that is in direct contact with the industry, the training and further eduction play a key role. In the so-called pupils' laboratory, local pupils are acquainted with technical contents of mechatronics by means of chosen experiment set-ups.

This is supposed to not only arouse interest in modern technology but also to support the commitment of young prospective engineers to the region.

A consistent step into this direction is the implementation of courses directly on campus. Teaching started on October 4th 2011 with the first semester "Dual Studies Mechatronics" in full-time.

Specialised and in a broad environment extra occupational, technical further education is another column of activities of the Technology Campus. Additionally, there are course offers that are adapted for the demands of the regional industry and that cover topics from the mechatronic environment. Further offers, like for example Master courses alongside career are developed according to their industrial demand.
