CAST: DIT’s International Combined Dual Study Programme06 08 cast logo news

Combined study, the ideal combination of academic study with intensive practical experience, is a renowned success. Our university is taking this programme one step further into an international arena by launching CAST (Company Academic Students Training) in October 2017. Applications are currently being accepted until 15th July.

The Deggendorf Institute of Technology has several international partners for this new international combined dual study programme, the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen and the Institute for Technology and Business in Budweis, in addition to several companies which are based in both locations.

CAST is a flexible programme aimed at ambitious and determined prospective students as well as companies located both in Bavaria and the Czech Republic that would like to actively participate in the development of the next generation of employees.

CAST is a flexible programme as an individual schedule can be created for each student in collaboration with the company involved. Students can participate in internships during the semester breaks or even spend a study semester at one of the two partner universities.

CAST provides students with many advantages: they experience a very intensive practical degree course, receive a continual salary throughout studies and have the chance to network and collect valuable personal contacts for their professional futures. Knowledge of Czech is not a prerequisite for participation in this programme and students are supported by free language courses as well as intercultural training during their studies.

CAST is separated into two different models for selection: the first is a combined study programme (degree combined with apprenticeship) in which students obtain a fully recognized vocational qualification parallel to a Bachelor degree. Two companies, MAX STREICHER GmbH & Co. KG from Deggendorf and Kermi GmbH from Plattling participate in this programme. Both are based in the Czech Republic as well as in Bavaria and look forward to training CAST students. The second model is a regular Bachelor degree with intensified practice (internships during semester breaks, the work experience semester and the degree dissertation).

The CAST application period for October DIT admissions is currently open until 15th July 2017.

Prospective international applicants can apply now to companies to secure their work placement CAST places for next year, 2018.

Please contact Claudia Probst from the DIT Career Service, who is more than happy to help with all further enquiries.
