Professor Georg Herde introduces research project EEBDA in London

International conferences are a platform for fruitful exchange about current research projects and results for professors and scientists. With this motivation, Georg Herde with Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) and Dominik Fischer, scientific member of staff at TU Munich travelled to this year’s IACAE (International Conference on Computer Auditing) in London.

Professor Herde was invited by Shi Ming Huang (Chung Cheng University, Chiayi, Taiwan) to present the research project EEBDA (Evidence-Based Decisions on the Basis of Big Data Analytics). There has been a long-standing cooperation in research and science between DIT and Chung Cheng University.

EEBDA is a project developing business administrative teaching innovations which are to prepare students for more digitalization in business. Five technical colleges in Bavaria are developing and implementing this course, financed by “Zukunftsfonds Bayern Digital”.

This year’s IACAE Conference’s motto “Auditing Technology and Education for Big Data Century” was a suitable platform to discuss the current state and further decisions. The topic was well received by participants from Dubai, Egypt, Taiwan, Japan, Great Britain and the USA. After the speech by the Deggendorf team that opened the conference, a lively discussion about the lecture concept took place. Prof. Georg Herde and Dominik Fischer were satisfied with the results of the conference, as they were able to return with new valuable contacts and experiences.

Participating universities: TU Munich (Prof. Ernstberger), Passau University (Prof. Haupt), Deggendorf Institute of Technology (Prof. Herde), HAW Würzburg-Schweinfurt (Prof. Schwindl), HAW Landshut (Prof. Busse);
