As the coordinating institution of the DInO EDIH, the Deggendorf Institute of Technology brings together several high-performing institutes: the Institute for Applied Informatics, the Institute for Future Technologies, and the Centre for Start-up Support. With a strong focus on practice and application, DIT seamlessly integrates research, teaching, and knowledge transfer. The university provides state-of-the-art test-before-invest infrastructure, including a 5G campus network, IoT and drone labs, and high-performance and quantum computing resources. This is complemented by practical training, upskilling formats, and qualification programmes for start-ups, SMEs, and public institutions across all four DInO service pillars.
The Bavarian AI Agency (BAIOSPHERE) is building the BAIOSPHERE AI network on behalf of the Bavarian state government to promote innovation, knowledge transfer and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

The network aims to strengthen AI competencies, encourage practical applications, and make responsible technological developments visible and accessible.Through events, community-building and (international) networking, the Bavarian AI Agency / BAIOSPHERE AGENCY plays a key role in positioning Bavaria as a leading AI hub. For small and medium-sized enterprises, the network provides guidance through tools such as the BAIOSPHERE AI COMPASS, as well as a wide range of transfer and exchange formats.
Within the DInO project, BAIOSPHERE AGENCY specifically offers services to connect SMEs and start-ups, conducts advisory sessions and workshops on AI topics, and provides companies with an initial orientation in AI through the Readiness Test.

OTH Regensburg is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Bavaria, with more than 11,000 students and around 1,000 members of staff.
OTH Regensburg is one of the largest universities of applied sciences in Bavaria, with more than 11,000 students and around 1,000 members of staff.
Within DInO, OTH Regensburg contributes through the Software Engineering Laboratory for Safe and Secure Systems (LaS³) and the Laboratory for Digitalisation (LfD). These laboratories provide expertise in IT security, eye tracking and machine learning. Three research assistants and two professors are actively involved in the DInO project. Both laboratories conduct active research into emerging technologies and support Bavarian SMEs within the framework of the Test Before Invest pillar. This includes organising hands-on workshops in the university’s laboratories as well as offering individual consultations directly at companies across the region.

The Cluster Mobility & Logistics forms part of TechBase Regensburg GmbH. Its mission is to connect regional companies with research institutions, public organisations and policymakers in order to drive innovation and technological advancement. Through targeted networking formats, platforms for knowledge exchange and tailored services, the cluster serves as a central point of contact for innovative businesses in the mobility and logistics sector across the Regensburg region.
Within DInO, services focus on funding support for research and development — including the German R&D tax incentive (Forschungszulage) — as well as digitalisation funding programmes such as Digitalbonus.Bayern. DInO clients benefit from individual advisory services and access to the “Fördermittel kompakt” webinar series.
In addition, the Mobility & Logistics Cluster regularly organises international networking events in cooperation with partners.

The Start-up Support Division focuses on digital and technology-driven start-ups and pursues the strategic objective of strengthening Regensburg as a start-up location, increasing entrepreneurial motivation, supporting technology-based ventures and fostering innovation through collaboration. Within the framework of the funding projects Digitale Gründerinitiative Oberpfalz (DGO/Digital Founding Initiative Upper Palatinate) and Digital Innovation Ostbayern (DInO), the division offers workshops, events, funding support and facilitation of cooperation between start-ups, SMEs and other regional partners. In DInO, the services particularly emphasise the principle of “Innovation through Collaboration”, aiming to strengthen cooperation between SMEs, municipalities and start-ups across the region.
