Ask your Questions to our Student Ambassador Thamyris Gomes

Hi, I’m Thamy, 32 years old and a master’s student in my second semester.

Do you have any questions about student life and the Master Healthy and Sustainable Buildings programme? I would be happy to share my experience with you and give you an insight into life as a DIT student. I am looking forward to hearing from you!

Why did I choose this study programme?

Since I was little, I have always been very interested in sustainability and ways to protect our planet. When I saw this Master's curriculum I was sure that it would be possible to develop my career in a sustainable aspect, bringing benefits to the users of the building and the population as a whole, even if indirectly in this case.

My personal tip For you:

Don't leave your tasks until the last minute, always be present and actively participate in classes, ask questions, go on excursions, ask for help when you need it. Make sure you are doing the best you can and positive results will come! If necessary, improve your skills in Revit and ArchiCAD, these are the programs used here.

Why you should study at DIT/ECRI:

I think the student support system that the university offers is really cool, whether emotional or professional/student. The university also offers many free excursions to international fairs, of innovations or work. It also promotes some student integration events such as game night what is a great opportunity to make new friends.

That's why you should study this course of studies:

This  Master offers the best curriculum in the area of sustainable architecture and smart buildings, in addition to that, the laboratories are very well equipped and the classes excellent. The professors have a high level of knowledge and experience, in addition to being professionally active in the area, so the content is always up to date in accordance with the job market and trends.

My best experience during my studies:

It would be difficult to describe something specific, but the cultural exchange with new friends who come from different parts of the world has added a lot to me, so I would say the best experience was making new friends.
