There is a unique concept behind the Deggendorf higher education system: The Technology Campus (TC). Since 2009, DIT has successively established these special research facilities in the neighbouring districts of Cham, Regen, Freyung-Grafenau, Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate, Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen and Passau.

In close cooperation with high-tech companies, reseachers and scientists develop application-related solutions for industrial application. At the centre of this work is the symbiosis of scientific research and its economic application, as the close cooperation dynamises the regional economy and sets new technological accents away from urban areas. Companies profit from access to DIT's labs and research facilities, while research trainees and prospective graduates gain valuable industrial networks as a result.
