More and more small and medium-sized companies are recognizing the increased demand for usable products. They are trying to optimise their goods from the point of view of user-friendliness in order to increase their sales opportunities and thus maintain their competitiveness. For this reason, companies are placing more and more emphasis on trained UX professionals in product development, who support the development team in all aspects of user experience. After successful participation and the acquisition of this university certificate, you will be able to independently initiate, accompany, implement and evaluate processes of usability engineering professionally.

  •  Duration of the attendance phases: 9 months part-time on 13 weekends, usually on Fridays from 2:00 p.m. - 6:15 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; next course start: presumably Q2/2020 - applications possible immediately. The number of participants for the further education "University Certificate Usability Engineer" is limited to 25 places per course.
  • Lecture location: Continuing Education Center of the Technical University Deggendorf
  • Course language: German
  • Costs (including study scripts): 3500€ course fee + 300€ administration fee / For THD students: 3000€ course fee + 300€ administration fee. An installment model and cost savings for companies with several participants are possible. Ms. Jana Herbst will be happy to inform you.

Usability engineering is becoming more and more important in the economy, as companies save both development costs and time by initiating and carrying out such a process, and in addition, the willingness of customers to buy is increased. Therefore, specialists in this field are currently in great demand.

The university certificate Usability Engineer can be purchased by

  •     Professionals who are already working as usability professionals
  •     University graduates from the disciplines of design, computer science, quality assurance, engineering, media, psychology and social sciences
  •     Practitioners with a completed dual vocational training (e.g. IT specialist, media designer) and at least 3 years of relevant work experience
  •     Students in combination with a full-time master's degree

No IT knowledge is required.
