Are you an international student interested in studying nursing in Germany? Our international Bachelor’s degree programme in Nursing is designed just for you! In the first three semesters, you’ll receive professional training along with German language courses as part of the curriculum. This ensures that by the fourth semester, you’ll be ready to attend lectures in German, setting you up for a successful career in the German healthcare sector.

Germany's nursing education landscape is evolving. As of early 2020, the new Nursing Professions Act allows students to earn a nursing degree through a Bachelor's programme. The Deggendorf Institute of Technology (DIT) is one of the few applied sciences universities in Bavaria offering this innovative programme. Our Nursing degree teaches you to care for patients and support their families. You'll gain the knowledge and skills to handle various care situations and manage the care process independently. With extensive hands-on experience during your studies, you'll develop the competence to professionally assess care scenarios from your own perspective. Upon graduation, you’ll earn a “Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)” degree and receive state certification as a registered nurse.

Fair Compensation for Practical Training

Thanks to the new Nursing Degree Strengthening Act, our nursing programme is a win-win opportunity. Gain practical experience in healthcare settings while receiving fair compensation. You'll enter into a training contract with our partner institutions (hospitals, care facilities, outpatient services) and receive appropriate pay for your work. DIT collaborates with industry partners to ensure you receive top-notch practical training, preparing you for a successful career in nursing.

career prospects

As a nursing professional, you are a versatile caregiver. You’re stepping into a career that’s in high demand. In Germany, well-trained nurses are needed more than ever. You can find work in hospitals, nursing homes, retirement homes, outpatient care services, and many other health and social care settings. When it comes to direct patient care, the people you help and support are always the focus of your work. You'll care for people of all ages and in all kinds of situations – from newborns in intensive care to very elderly people in their own homes. Your job is to choose the right preventive, curative, and palliative measures for them and help them implement these measures in their daily lives. You are a crucial link between patients, their families, and a team of professionals, including doctors, physiotherapists, speech therapists, midwives, and more. You'll gain the practical experience you need during the hands-on phases of your studies, which make up almost half of your coursework and are organized by your university.
