If you are interested in applying at our university, there are many different options available to you. Choose to study at our main campus in Deggendorf or at our new European Campus Rottal-Inn, either as an exchange student or enrolled as a regular student. The application process is identical for both locations.

German university entrance qualification
A B2 English level certificate according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages, such as German Abitur (with English courses taken continuously to the end of qualification phase 1, i. e. year 11 with G8 and year 12 otherwise and passed with at least “sufficient”).

Language of education (e. g. in a bachelor programme)
The proof of the language of education may be provided via the respective form in combination with a transcript of records or a graduation certificate.

Accepted Language Certificates:

  • TOEFL Test of English as a Foreign Language Level: Internet-based test 72 - 94 points
  • TOEIC Test of English for International Communication Level: listening 400 - 485 points, reading 450 points
  • IELTS International English Testing System Level: IELTS Academic min. 5,5 - 6,5 points
  • TELC English Level: B2 School, Business or Technical
  • ESOL Cambridge University, English for Speakers of Other Languages Level:
    - Cambridge English: First (FCE)
    - Certificate in English Language Skills: Vantageo
    - Cambridge English: Business Vantage
  • CET College English Test Level: Band 6
  • Pearson PTE Academic: min. 59 points

 

Please note:

A high level of English (CEFR C1) is required for Business Administration, International Management and Tourism Management degrees

Language requirements for German-based degree courses in Deggendorf

German language requirements:

Required level of German language skills to enable admission into a degree course at the Deggendorf Institute of Technology.

Information for exchange students:

All exchange students must participate in a German course during the semester. Additionally, an intensive German course is offered during the Orientation Week which is 1-2 weeks before the start of the semester.

Please direct any further enquiries about language skills to the Language Centre.

 

Applying as an exchange student

Exchange students may attend any degree courses in a range of semesters, provided all academic and linguistic pre-requisites are fulfilled.

Orientation Week

All international exchange students attend the Orientation Week.

 

Application Period

  • 1 April - 1 June for October entries
  • 1 October - 1 December for March entries

The online application portal is only activated during the above application periods!

 

Application Forms

After completing the first online application, applicants receive an email containing a link and login details. The applicant then must follow the link and enter a password, before entering further details and uploading documents (such as CV, photo, copy of passport, grade sheet, certificate of enrolment).

Application as an exchange student at DIT is ONLY via Mobility Online. All required documents can be uploaded and nothing should be sent through traditional post.

 

Applying as a regular international student

Application Period

  • 15 April - 15 July for October entries (winter semester)
  • 15 November - 15 January for March entries (summer semester)

Bachelor courses start in the winter semester only

Master of Applied Research in Engineering Sciences: international applications

  • 15 April - 15 June for October entries

Master of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology: international applications

  • 1 November - 1 December for March entries
  • 15 April - 15 June for October entries

All other courses comply to the general application guidelines.

There are 2 different types of application procedures,
depending on which degree you have chosen:

1. If you are an international student applying for one of the following degree courses,
    please apply via hochschulstart.de.

  • Bachelor of Business Administration
  • Bachelor of International Management
  • Bachelor of Tourism Management
  • Bachelor of Media Technology

All of these courses are based at the main campus in Deggendorf.

After completing the online application form, please send it with all required documents below directly to:

2. All other regular international students please apply directly to DIT

Applicants from the People's Republic of China, Mongolia, and Vietnam

DIT university applicants from China, Mongolia and Vietnam have specific admission requirements. A certificate from the Academic Inspection Authority / Akademische Prüfstelle (APS) from a German Embassy in the respective country is required.
